Belonging to the cat family, Pallas's cats are true felines, despite their name suggesting otherwise. Their behavior closely mirrors that of domestic cats: they are solitary, nocturnal hunters with a diet primarily consisting of meat. Pallas’s cats exhibit many traits typical of house cats, including a preference for solitude and a nocturnal lifestyle. In the wild, Pallas's cats are incredibly aggressive and ready to attack at any moment. Their diet includes wild birds, marmots, and various rodents, but they can also take down prey much larger than themselves, such as deer and sheep, when driven by hunger. This remarkable hunting ability showcases just how formidable these seemingly cuddly creatures can be.

Pallas's cats inhabit harsh environments like deserts, steppes, and rocky outcrops. They are well-adapted to cold and arid conditions, often dwelling in crevices or abandoned burrows of other animals, which they modify for their own use.
